April 1! - Verse 7

Hi Everyone!

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend. If you attended a bible conference, then you're likely exhausted, but hopefully refreshed deep in your soul. That is, unless you have young kids or served the whole weekend and didn't really hear anything (grin)... I fall into the first category, but did get a few snippets from the messages throughout the three days. Here's one that challenged me:

"When we see the glory of God, we will grieve at the slightest of sins." A Robertson

How much my sin convicts me is a direct result of how close I have leaned into God and have taken in and appreciated His Glory and Holiness... "Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty!"

I was trying to find a segue back to Easter and the next quote I'm sharing, but... I'm coming up short, so I'll just share it for you to mull over as well. :)

"Even when darkness falls, and all seems lost, God is always working for His glory and our good, like He was on the cross." Louie Giglio

I have read so many powerful quotes this weekend on Twitter related to the Work of the Cross and the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ... with I could share them all here :) So very thankful for the Cross and a Risen Saviour!

Ok - back to our verses! We're moving on to verse 7... how are you still doing with Verse 1?? Keep refreshing and reviewing... let's make sure these verses are implanted DEEP. :)

Have a wonderful day and enjoy the signs of spring popping up all around you...

Janna, GTA Ontario -- So I didn't quite get through my selection of verses for last time, so I'm continuing to work on this: Colossians 3:12-15 NIV

"Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful."

Brittany - Sarnia Ontario,
Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you
Hebrews 13:17 NKJV

I will be working on my same verse this session:

Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there. Since we are living by the Spirit let us follow the Spirit's leading in every part of our lives. Galations 5.24-25 NLT

Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;
And in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God.
For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;

Philippians 1: 27-29

Sandra, Doha, Qatar. What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Who shall lay anything to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. Romans 8: 31-34, KJV

Jody - GTA - "But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies." 2 Cor 4:7-10 - I will be doing this for the month of April... and maybe May too:)

John 15 v 14,15 - Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you. KJV

He only is my rock and my salvation;
he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.
Psalm 62:2

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
Psalm 27:1

But as for you, O man of God, flee these things. Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness. ESV, 1 Timothy 6:11

We are late too ... But we have been memorizing! The whole family has joined in too which is lovely. :)
Romans 12:1 ESV
I appeal to you therefore, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.

Well it seems to be becoming a pattern that I only touch base once a month. Sorry. It is interesting to see connections between the verses that everyone is memorizing. Some have been an encouragement to me today. These are my April verses.

2 Timothy 2:24, 25 ESV
And the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil,correcting his opponents with gentleness.

James 1:5 ESV
If anyone of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.
