Spring is really here. I think it's finally safe to say that here on this part of the globe... We kind of jump from winter to summer temperatures quickly, so these perfect spring days are precious. Treasured. And fully enjoyed!
How is your motivation these days?? Even if you get a bit behind on memorizing, there's always TODAY to get back at it. Maybe while you take a quick walk to enjoy the weather, you can go over your verses. While you're out for a jog, mopping your floors, weeding your garden (why do weeds grow so easily?!) or cleaning out your fridge... there are many opportunities for review. Praying we will continue to work at it even in these busy months. :)
So, what verse are you choosing to commit to memory this first half of May? We're almost half-way through the year! Keep up the great work friends!

"Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mind house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it." Malachi 3:10 KJV
Still working on the 2nd half of James chapter 2. Hoping to finish this chapter by the end of May!!

Jody - Maple, On - so I actually didn't even memorize the verse I posted at the beginning of April. I ended up being sidetracked with a whole bunch of other verses that I have been working on with my children. am actually going to bow out of this challenge as I am finding it to be just one other thing... Even though it is a good other thing. My admiration goes out to all of you! I will still work at hiding God's word in my heart, just not in this formalized way.
I have been delinquent :( But back on track! My verse:
The Lord is my strength and my shield;in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults,
and with my song I give thanks to him. Psalm 28:7

Romans 5 :1-5 ESV
"Therefore since we have been justified by faith we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ
Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice into he hope of the glory of God. More than that we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character and character produces hope. And we hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips. Do not incline my heart to any evil thing, to practice deeds of wickedness with men who do iniquity and do not let me eat of their delicacies.
Psalm 141:3,4 NASB

This is the second part of Paul's prayer for the Thessalonians. I worked on Part 1 last time.
"That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ."
2 Thess 1:12

The way my brain has been working, these will probably be my verses for the month of may.
Romans 12.16-18
Live in harmony with one another. do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight. Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honourable in the sight of all. If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.

How is it that 2 small verses that are similar in content are so hard to keep straight?? I just kept mixing them up! I had a harder time last month with 2 little verses about 'whom shall I fear', than 5 verses together from other months!
OH well - for the first part of this month (yes I realize it's already the 8th!) I am going to learn a famously easy one - Amos 4:12 (plus it's following verse, 13)
...prepare to meet thy God, O Israel.
For, lo, he that formeth the mountains, and createth the wind,
and declareth unto man what is his thought,
that maketh the morning darkness,
and treadeth upon the high places of the earth,
The Lord, The God of hosts, is his name.
Brittany - Sarnia Ontario - And Now, my daughter, fear not; I will do to thee all that thou requirest: for all the city of my people doth know that thou art a virtuous woman.
